Brillio is a complete kids content platform source template for iOS 17+, built as a UIKit + SwiftUI hybrid with Firebase and StoreKit 2. It ships a video and audio library with colorful category cards, offline downloads, a 4-digit parental passcode lock, a premium subscription screen, and three fully playable games packaged as separate framework projects: HoneyWord (SwiftUI spelling bee), Wall Jump (SpriteKit arcade platformer) and Math Camp (UIKit math practice).

All content comes from your own Firestore - add videos, audio books and categories remotely without an app update, and use the built-in Remote Config percentage kill switch to disable content in an emergency. The documentation includes copy-paste Firestore sample data and COPPA/Kids-category guidance.

Highlights

  • Video and audio content library with editable category cards (General, Music, Bedtime, Books, Touch)
  • Video player plus audio book playback
  • Offline downloads with a downloads list and player
  • Three included games as standalone framework projects - swap, remove or add your own
  • 4-digit parental passcode on first launch and protected areas (Apple-approved pattern)
  • Premium subscriptions via StoreKit 2 with subscribe screen and premium content locks
  • Firebase Remote Config percentage kill switch - disable content remotely
  • Firestore-backed content: add categories and videos without shipping an update
  • PostHog analytics integrated (optional - remove in one place or self-host)
  • COPPA-aware design with Kids-category guidance in the docs
  • One-file re-skin via Utility/StyleGuide.swift

Technology

  • UIKit + SwiftUI hybrid, iOS 17+
  • Firebase: Auth, Cloud Firestore, Remote Config, Analytics
  • StoreKit 2 auto-renewable subscriptions
  • SpriteKit (Wall Jump), SwiftUI (HoneyWord), UIKit (Math Camp) - three framework projects built by the included workspace
  • PostHog SDK (optional, removable)

Requirements

  • Mac with macOS 13.5+ and Xcode 15 or newer (open the included .xcworkspace)
  • iOS 17.0+ device or simulator
  • A free Firebase project for content; the Blaze plan only if you outgrow free quotas
  • Paid Apple Developer Program required for In-App Purchases and publishing

What You Get

  • Complete workspace source: main app target plus three game framework projects
  • documentation.html with embedded screenshots: Firebase setup, sample Firestore data, subscription setup, downloads, games guide, kill switch, COPPA guidance, troubleshooting and App Store checklist
  • Placeholder GoogleService-Info.plist - paste your own Firebase config
  • README.md with a quick-start and project overview
  • 13 app screenshots
  • Full rights to rebrand, reskin, extend and publish on the App Store

Please note: this is a source code template, not a compiled app. A Mac with Xcode 15+ is required to build it, and your own Firebase project is needed for content. If you have questions, use the contact form on the site, I usually reply within 24 hours.
