NumBurst
2048-style number bubble shooter: merge 3+ same-number bubbles for chain combos, beat 50 challenge levels with star ratings or survive endless mode. Phaser 3, 100% procedural graphics.
NumBurst is a fresh twist on the classic bubble shooter: every bubble carries a number. Match three or more bubbles with the same number and they merge into one bubble worth double the value (8 + 8 = 16). Chain merges for combo multipliers, beat 50 handcrafted challenge levels with star ratings, or test your stamina in the ever-accelerating endless mode. The entire game is rendered with procedural Phaser graphics: zero image or audio files to download, so it loads instantly and can be re-skinned entirely from one config file.
Highlights
- Core bubble-shooter loop: aim, bounce off walls, snap to a hex offset grid
- Number merging: 3+ same-value bubbles fuse into one bubble of double value (2, 4, 8, 16 ... up to 2048)
- Chain reactions with combo counter, combo x2/x3 banners and MEGA COMBO moments
- Combo scoring: bigger chains score exponentially more points
- Endless mode: a new row drops every 10 shots and the spawn pool gets heavier every 30 shots (5 difficulty tiers)
- Dry-shot pressure: 5 missed shots in a row drop an extra row (visual pips show the countdown)
- Danger line: bubbles crossing the line end the run
- Challenge mode: 50 levels across 4 goal types (reach score, create target bubble, hit combo, pop count)
- Per-level shot limits and a 3-star rating system based on score thresholds
- Star-gated progression: win a level to unlock the next one, stars saved per level
- Aim assist: dotted trajectory preview with realistic wall bounces that stops at the first bubble it would hit
- Free unlimited SWAP button before firing, pause modal, game over and level complete modals with animated star reveal
- Polish everywhere: screen shake on big combos, particle bursts on every merge, floating score popups, bubble pop-in tweens
- LocalStorage persistence: high score and level stars survive page reloads
- Fully responsive: 1280x720 design resolution with Phaser Scale.FIT - plays in any browser window and on touch devices
