Paradox is a complete social video app source template for iOS 17+, built with SwiftUI and backed by Firebase. It is a TikTok-style vertical feed for music creators: full-screen video posts that auto-play and loop, a weekly "Hype" point economy with 200/500/1,000 flame tiers, weekly and all-time leaderboards, an in-app camera recorder, video and audio trimmers, email/password auth with a genre-picker onboarding, and creator profiles with SoundCloud/YouTube/Instagram links.

The hype economy runs entirely server-side in two Cloud Functions (giveHype, getHypeState), so balances and weekly resets cannot be tampered with from the client. Firestore and Storage security rules are included, and the whole Firebase setup takes about 10 minutes with the step-by-step guide.

Highlights

  • TikTok-style full-screen vertical video feed with auto-play, loop and swipe navigation
  • "Hype" point economy: three flame tiers, weekly balance shown in the feed, resets every Monday 00:00 UTC
  • Server-validated hype transfers via Cloud Functions - client-side cheating is impossible
  • Weekly leaderboard (top 100) and All-Time leaderboard (top 10), tap a row to open the post
  • In-app camera recording, library video upload, audio uploads (MP3, WAV, M4A)
  • Video and audio trimmers open automatically for clips longer than 60 seconds
  • Email/password authentication, onboarding with genre picker (4 genre categories)
  • Creator profiles: connect, post grid, editable social links, long-press post deletion
  • One-post-per-day limit, end-of-feed screen, weekly balance counter
  • Firestore + Storage security rules included, firebase.json ready for one-command deploys
  • Dark purple theme defined in one DesignSystem file for a one-pass re-skin

Technology

  • SwiftUI, iOS 17+, MVVM
  • Firebase 12.x via Swift Package Manager: Auth, Firestore, Storage, Analytics
  • Cloud Functions (Node.js 20): giveHype, getHypeState
  • AVFoundation camera and playback, photo library and file pickers
  • No third-party iOS dependencies besides the Firebase SDK

Requirements

  • Mac with macOS 13.5+ and Xcode 15 or newer
  • iOS 17.0+ device or simulator
  • A free Firebase account; Cloud Functions need the Blaze plan (everyday usage typically stays within the free quota)
  • Apple Developer account only for device testing and App Store submission

What You Get

  • Complete Xcode project source: views, models, services, components, design system
  • Cloud Functions source with the full hype economy (balances, counters, weekly reset)
  • firestore.rules, storage.rules, firebase.json and a placeholder GoogleService-Info.plist
  • documentation.html: Firebase setup walkthrough, bundle ID, re-skin table, hype rules and App Store submission checklist
  • README.md with a quick-start and project overview
  • 15 app screenshots
  • Full rights to rebrand, reskin, extend and publish on the App Store

Please note: this is a source code template, not a compiled app. A Mac with Xcode 15+ is required to build it, and your own Firebase project is required for the backend. If you have questions, use the contact form on the site, I usually reply within 24 hours.
