Scenio
AI camera scanner with scene descriptions, on-device OCR, translation, location guess, voice readout and multi-turn chat
Scenio is a real-time AI camera scanner source template for iOS 17+, built in SwiftUI. Point the camera at anything (or pick a gallery photo) and get an instant AI description of the scene, on-device OCR text extraction, AI text translation, an AI location guess with Open in Maps, a spoken readout for vision-impaired users and multi-turn chat grounded in the scanned scene. It ships with a StoreKit 2 auto-renewable subscription paywall, a free-scan credit system, scan history and 19 localizations. It talks to any OpenAI-compatible endpoint, and no API key ships with the template.
Highlights
- Five scan modes: Scout (scene description), Lingo (translation), Here (location guess with Open in Maps), Voice (spoken readout) and Ask (multi-turn chat about the scan)
- On-device OCR with Vision framework plus text overlays, QR and barcode detection - no key needed
- Gallery photo picking alongside the live camera
- Text-to-speech readout and a dedicated Vision-Impaired mode
- Scan history with persisted results
- StoreKit 2 auto-renewable paywall with a free-scan credit system (starting balance configurable in one line)
- Works with any OpenAI-compatible endpoint: OpenAI, Google Gemini, Groq, OpenRouter or self-hosted
- Server-side proxy guide with a ready-to-deploy Cloudflare Worker example so no key lives in the app binary
- Glassmorphism UI, 19 localizations, privacy manifest included
